The Team

Mr. Lim is a co-founding partner of Pinetree Capital Partners.  Prior to setting up Pinetree Capital Partners, Mr. Lim was Vice President at Raintree Ventures Pte Ltd.  At Raintree, Mr. Lim managed numerous late-stage private equity investment opportunities including a medical devices deal that yielded almost 200% gain in less than 12 months.  Mr. Lim was actively involved in helping these enterprises to navigate around complicated issues as they prepare for listings in Singapore, United States and United Kingdom.  Mr. Lim has been involved in the Chinese investment market as early as 1993 and therefore has a keen knowledge of its business culture and practices.  Apart from investments and capital market initiatives, Mr. Lim is adept at dealing with operational matters.  He has been involved in turning around companies and in charting out/implementing growth strategies for such companies.  Prior to joining Raintree, Mr. Lim was a General Manager of CWT, a leading Supply Chain Management subsidiary of PSA (Port of Singapore Authority).  Before CWT, Mr. Lim was Head Corporate Planning of another leading logistics company that he helped transformed from a family-owned enterprise to a public listed company.

He holds a Master of Business degree and has sat on the Board of numerous companies in Singapore, China, India and Dubai where he was actively involved in developing their strategic directions. He was also a member of BVQI’s Certification Committee and a member of Intelligent Enterprise Asia’s Advisory Board.  He had the rank of Major while in military service, and received numerous Commendations, including 2 Certificates of Commendation conferred personally by the Defence Minister.
