The Team

Mr. Leong is a co-founding partner of Pinetree Capital Partners Pte Ltd.  He has over 30 years of international venture capital and investment banking experience, covering markets from the Middle East, India, Australia and South East Asia.

Prior to setting up Pinetree Capital Partners, Mr. Leong served as Vice President of Raintree Ventures Pte Ltd where he dealt extensively with late-stage private equity opportunities.  He was Vice President and General Manager at Nomura/Jafco Investment Asia Ltd, and Manager of DBS Capital Investments Ltd.

Apart from his experience in investing, Mr. Leong has considerable experience in the day-to-day operations and development of private enterprises having spent 5 years as Vice President of Business Development for a leading Singapore IT Company.  He was a key founder and management team member of the IT Company and he helped to build it from a start-up into a leading Government IT Solutions Vendor in Asia.  As part of the executive management team, Mr. Leong was responsible for key group strategies and overseeing and managing all business development initiatives and supporting functions including marketing and strategic alliances.  Apart from the IT Company, he has good exposure to operational, developmental and corporate governance issues of various businesses in the region having served as a board member for several companies in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia.

Mr. Leong also serves on the Investment Committee at the Eurasian Association, Singapore, a Charity and an Institute of Public Character.

Mr. Leong holds a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University, CA. USA.
